I have always had the need for speed, through High school I ran track and played football for Del Valle High school. Life happened and I let myself get out of shape. I was a few years out of the police academy and I knew I needed a change. 6 years ago I found CrossFit. I quickly knew this was what my life was missing! I received my L1 4 years ago and coached at a local box but knew I wanted more! 2 years ago my wife decided she wanted to get back into CrossFit so we started a small home gym and it became a new lifestyle for our family. I enjoy seeing first time cross-fitters have that moment of wow I did that, and I love that veteran CrossFitter who has told me for years they can’t do a double under, get not only one double under, but string together 5 of them!

I have a passion for coaching and would love to have any and everyone be a part of CrossFit KOVU!

My fitness journey began in my teen as an active High schooler playing sports and working as a lifeguard. “Life” happened after high school, starting a family and building my nursing career. I gained 90 pounds with my third pregnancy and knew it was time to make myself a priority. I began walking daily, then jogging, started cycling and eventually attempted my first triathlon. On my fitness journey I have complete the MS 150 in MS, 90-mile Livestrong challenge and found CrossFit. I have trained using the CrossFit method for 7 years. During that time, I learned the importance of fueling my body with the proper nutrition. Now at 41 years old I feel better physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually. My passion for health and fitness bleed over into my family and friends. I love helping people whether in the Operating Room or at CrossFit Kovu.

I have always lived an active lifestyle. A lot of my fitness was found outside of the gym biking, paddle boarding and swimming. I have completed a MS 150 Tour and I also completed a sprint triathlon. My coaching journey began when I signed up to take my CrossFit L1. Since then I have competed in two local CrossFit Competitions. My passion is to help athletes reach their potential both inside and outside of the gym.
